CLUB RULES
Official Rules and Guidelines
1.
To compete in club sponsored events all
members/guests must be at least 18 years of age, unless the guest is a
family member of a Rocket City Bass Assassin Member.
2.
All boaters shall abide by Alabama
State rules and regulation pertaining to safe and legal boating.
3.
Boats used during competition shall
meet all state/federal regulations.
4.
Yearly dues for membership in the
Rocket City Bass Assassins club are as follows:
Club Dues: $25.00 (Full and Limited Membership)
Classic Entry Fee: $60 (Full Membership Only)
Angler of the Year: $13 (Full Membership Only)
Big Fish of Year: $10 (Full Membership Only)
5.
The Rocket City Bass Assassins will
fish one tournament per month during the calendar year (12 total). The year
end Classic will be held during the month of October, with the lake/ramp
hosting the tournament being selected by the Classic qualifiers.
6.
Club tournaments will be held the
second Saturday of each month, unless otherwise decided by the membership.
Club meetings are held on the Thursday night preceding the monthly
tournament.

7.
Day and night combo tournaments will be
allowed, but must be voted on monthly by the membership
8.
Boater/non-boater parings will be made
by random drawing during the Club meeting. If a Boater/non-boater is unable
to attend the club meeting, that boater/non-boater may submit their name for
drawing by contacting a club officer.
9.
Tournament winnings shall be split
equitably (50/50) between the boater and non-boater. Non-boater shall pay
the boater $20, or an amount agreed upon between the two, to help
with expenses of the boat (i.e. fuel, oil, etc).
10.
Entry fee for club tournaments will be
$30 per angler per tournament (fee includes big fish pot). A
percentage (see tournament payout chart) of the entry fee shall be placed in
the Rocket City Bass Assassins Club account.
11.
Use of live bait is prohibited
during tournament competition. Only artificial lures shall be used.
12.
No trolling, using the boat’s main
engine (spontaneous combustion engine), shall be permitted during club
tournaments.
13.
Fish qualifying for weigh-in shall be
Black Bass/Small Mouth/ or Spotted Bass of any combination. Fish shall have
a minimum length of 12 inches or as specified in the Alabama Department of
Natural Resources Fish and Game (DNR) rules for the body of water being
fished. Fish measurement at weigh-in shall be straight board length, with
mouth closed and tail pinched, i.e. not swept.
14.
There will be a six (6) fish per boat
limit; only three (3) fish shall be counted towards points. No more than
six (6) fish allowed in a competitor’s live well at any one time, culling
shall begin after the sixth fish is caught (there will be an 8 oz. penalty
for each fish if more than six (6) are brought to weigh-in) .
15.
Fish brought to weigh-in that do not
meet the DNR length limit for the launching lake will be disqualified. In
addition, the ‘Big Fish’ for that competitor will be forfeited (i.e. Any
fish brought to weigh-in that does not meet legal length limits will not
be counted towards a competitor’s overall weight and the competitor’s
largest fish will also be disqualified). All fish brought the scales
for weigh in must be in a catch bag with ample water.
16.
Tournament Points: The following
system will be used to award points for monthly tournaments and towards year
end titles.
First Place: 175 + # fish
Second Place: 100 + # fish
Third Place: 75 + # fish
17.
All fish
must be caught from a boat. Boats used during competition shall be a
minimum of 17 feet long with a minimum main engine size of 115 HP.
18.
Fish caught during the tournament must
be alive at weigh-in to receive full credit. Dead fish will be penalized 8
oz. (i.e. 8 ounces will be subtracted from that fish’s weight.).
Only one dead fish per tournament will be allowed!
19.
A competitor/team boat shall have
returned to the launching ramp by weigh-in time or be disqualified. If a
competitor/team has boat trouble, mechanical or otherwise, and the
participant(s) are unable to return to the launching ramp by weigh-in time,
then that boat must telephone or otherwise contact a member of the club 15
minutes prior to the tournament ‘weigh-in time’ to qualify for weigh-in.
Each member will receive a list of cell phone numbers for the club.
All live wells will be checked prior to launch.
20.

22.
It shall be legal to lock through a dam
and fish a lake other than the launching lake, if the participants within a
boat agree. However, fish taken from the ‘locked through lake’ must meet
size limits specified by DNR for the lake with the greater limit (e.g. if
a boat locks through from Wheeler Lake to Wilson Lake and the Black Bass
length limit for Wilson Lake is 14” minimum, whereas the length limit for
Wheeler is 15”, then all fish (Black Bass) returned for weigh-in must be a
minimum of 15” in length.)
23.
If during a tournament no fish are
weighed-in, then the pay-off money for that tournament will be added to the
year-end Classic Tournament pot.
24.
Only one rod per contestant may be used
at any one time. Other rods may be rigged and ready for use. Only casting,
spin casting or spinning reels may be used during competition.
25.
A boat/team shall not fish within fifty
feet (50) of any other club tournament boat/team.
26.
Limited Club Membership (Additional
rules)
a.
Club dues of $25 are required. Additional fees as described in rule
4 are not required.
b.
Limited members shall abide by the preceding club rules.
c.
Limited members are not eligible to fish the annual Classic.
i.
Limited members must attend the monthly meeting in order to fish the
monthly tournament.
(If you are unable to attend the meeting you will need to inform a club
official of your intent to fish prior to the day of the
event).
d.
Limited members will not accumulate points and are not eligible for
post season awards (i.e. Angler of the Year and big stringer pot.)
e.
Limited members are not Federation affiliated and are not entitled to
certain Federation benefits (i.e. magazines, mailings etc.). Non-Federation
members cannot participate in Federation sponsored events. |
